Her mother made new books arrive monthly in the shape of subscriptions, and her parents introduced her to novels, encyclopedias, and even world globes. Such exposures in childhood kindled Aya's fascination with storytelling and her search for understanding how words can create meaning, convey emotion, and outline the world.

Teachers noticed her writing potential and encouraged her, as did her parents, to hone this skill. This early encouragement laid the groundwork for a highly successful copywriting career—a profession Aya did not foresee but transitioned into as she pursued independence and creative freedom.
